In stark contrast to all the hype you’ve heard from the likes of Mr. Gore and those like him, check out the following excerpt from this article:

The current debate about global warming is “completely irrational,” and people need to start taking a different approach, say two Ottawa scientists.

Carleton University science professor Tim Patterson said global warming will not bring about the downfall of life on the planet.

Patterson said much of the up-to-date research indicates that “changes in the brightness of the sun” are almost certainly the primary cause of the warming trend since the end of the “Little Ice Age” in the late 19th century. Human emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), the gas of concern in most plans to curb climate change, appear to have little effect on global climate, he said.

“I think the proof in the pudding, based on what (media and governments) are saying, (is) we’re about three quarters of the way (to disaster) with the doubling of CO2 in the atmosphere,” said Patterson. “The world should be heating up like crazy by now, and it’s not. The temperatures match very closely with the solar cycles.”

Patterson explained CO2 is not a pollutant, but an essential plant food.

And one very sad fact:

 ”All the money wasted on Kyoto in a year could provide clean drinking water for Africa,” said Patterson.

Please, help stop this madness.

Companies and individuals rushing to go green have been spending millions on “carbon credit” projects that yield few if any environmental benefits.

A Financial Times investigation has uncovered widespread failings in the new markets for greenhouse gases, suggesting some organisations are paying for emissions reductions that do not take place.

Overall, some great reporting in this FT article, but I think they should’ve covered Mr. Gore’s financial ties to global warming.

 A leading skeptic of global-warming science is challenging celebrity activists such as Al Gore and Sheryl Crow to lower their “carbon footprint” to the same level as the average American by Earth Day in April 2008.
“I simply believe that former Vice President Al Gore and his Hollywood friends who demand we change the way we live to avert this over-hyped ‘crisis’ not only talk the talk, but walk the walk,” said Sen. James M. Inhofe, Oklahoma Republican.
“How hard is it for these elitists to become as frugal in their energy consumption as the average American? I think the American public has a right to know they are being had.”

Go Mr. Inhofe!  The above article also references TheSmokingGun.com’s recent revelation about Sheryl Crow’s touring requirements, which include “three tractor trailers, four buses, and six cars.”  How hypocritical is that?

I’ve always liked Sherl Crow’s music, I wish she hadn’t gone political — I won’t be buying any more of her CD’s for a long time I’m afraid.  Here’s a quote from her blog during her global warming tour:

Crow (4/19, Springfield, Tenn.): I have spent the better part of this tour trying to come up with easy ways for us all to become a part of the solution to global warming. Although my ideas are in the earliest stages of development, they are, in my mind, worth investigating. One of my favorites is in the area of forest conservation which we heavily rely on for oxygen. I propose a limitation be put on how many squares of toilet paper can be used in any one sitting. Now, I don’t want to rob any law-abiding American of his or her God-given rights, but I think we are an industrious enough people that we can make it work with only one square per restroom visit, except, of course, on those pesky occasions where 2 to 3 could be required.

  The weather forecast for Saturday’s global warming rallies in Grand Rapids and Holland calls for snow and cold rain and temperatures in the 40s — about 10 degrees below normal.

For some, this might make global warming a tough sell.

I personally think that’s a gross understatement…but here’s the article for what it’s worth.

Simply amazing, I don’t think this abnormally chilly weather was covered in “An Inconvenient Truth”.  Wonder how all those scientists missed this?

April 10 (Bloomberg) — The groundhog’s prediction for an early spring is proving wrong in New York City, where a cold front has kept temperatures about 7 degrees below the historical average this month, the National Weather Service said.

Just 10 days into April, temperatures have averaged 42 degrees Fahrenheit (5.5 Celsius), about one degree warmer than the average for April 1874, the coldest on record, said Michael Silva, meteorologist with the National Weather Service’s Upton, New York, station.

…when I tried to watch Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” on cable TV recently, I wasn’t able to get past the first 10 minutes. I was snorting with disgust at its manipulations and distortions and laughing at Gore’s lugubrious sentimentality, which was painfully revelatory of his indecisive, self-thwarting character. When Gore told a congressional hearing last month that there is a universal consensus among scientists about global warming — which is blatantly untrue — he forfeited his own credibility.

Just now saw this revealing article from last month…here’s the lowdown, but please read the whole story:

• First, Gore sets up a company that will invest in other companies that will benefit from global warming alarmism
• Second, Gore gets some Hollywood types to fund and produce a movie designed to scare the c-c-carbon out of the population
• Third, Gore travels the world promoting this movie, while pushing the view that a cataclysm is imminent if the world doesn’t immediately act
• Fourth, an adoring media falls for the con hook, line, and sinker. Rather than debunking the flaws in the theories, the media promote every word of it while advancing the concept that Gore’s views represent those of an overwhelming majority of scientists
• Fifth, scared governments and citizens across the globe invest in alternative energy programs driving up the shares of companies Gore’s group has already invested in
• Sixth, Gore and his cronies make billions as they laugh all the way to the bank at the stupidity of their fellow citizens

This AP story sums it up pretty well.  Here are a few nuggets from the article:

Nashville, Tenn., bottomed out Sunday at 23 degrees, knocking one degree off the Easter Sunday record set March 24, 1940.

East of Cleveland in the city of Chardon, about 16 inches of snow has fallen, and forecasters predicted the region could get another 10 inches before the storms tapered off late Sunday. Temperatures were expected to remain unseasonably cold through much of the week.

Officials in Morrison, Colo., canceled Sunday’s annual sunrise service at the Red Rocks Amphitheater because seats and stairways were covered with ice.

A local college is having a community forum this week with a free viewing of Al Gore’s ‘An Inconvenient Truth‘ — I believe this sort of forum is taking place all over the country, and it will amount to tons of free political advertising for Mr. Gore, if he decides to enter the presidential race.  Thank the Lord for cold weather…maybe, just maybe, it’ll freeze some sense into the alarmists.
